VS Pink Follow Up
Victoria Secret Pink Collection
“Bright Young
Things” targets Teens Girl
Chantal Lewis14, recently heard about Victoria Secret
Pink Collection from her girlfriends at school. They were saying great things.
Keisha Said “You will love their new colors”. After school she went straight to
Victoria Secret Pink store. They had amazing underwear, sweat pants, yoga
pants, and nightwear. Less than an hour she called her mom. I want to go shopping this weekend at VS Pink
Said Chantal.

Victoria Secret Pink campaign for their spring break
collection is with their slogan "Bright Young Things" has target young women
including college students. Some of their underwear words and phrases are like “dare you,” “feeling lucky” and “call me” located
on the front and back. Many parents are more than upset with pink. They feel
they are a negative influence on teen girls. Parents would prefer to have them
remove from the shelves. On March 26 Victoria Secret has been in huge trouble
over its new campaign targeting teen girls in USA.

“I think it is
a shameless act in order to help the organization gain more money” said Troy
Dash. “It makes sense because they sell a lot of stuff in those tiny petite
sizes. The problem with that is that this type of garments was meant to be for
people at the age to have sex basically exclusively used when you want to
"spice things up". Underwear is underwear unless you are showing it
off. Teen Girls this day are more
insecure then they have ever been.”
Removing the items from the shelves is not stopping teens
from wanting to look like college girls. “I
think the parents are over exaggerating. Everyone knows Victoria secrets sales
sex like lingerie and lace and cute comments on the butt. The parents could
easily take their younger daughters to Target or JC penny’s if they do not see
it fit for them. Teen girls are young anyway. So it is the parents that would
be buying the underwear for them.” Honestly the girls should be able to wear
whatever makes them feel comfortable and confident under their clothes at young
ages. Nobody should be seeing it but them. Said Merely Stanley, Visual
Merchandising
Victoria Secret said “When someone is 15 or 16 years old,
what do they want to be? They want to be older, and they want to be cool like
the girls in college, and that’s part of the magic of what we do at Pink?” Said
Financial Officer Stuart Burgdoerfer quoted from Teen Vogue news. VS Pink
believes they are ready for the bright young things campaign. Now what do you
think. Do you think it’s a good or a Bad Idea?
